HON. (DR.) BABATUNDE OYETOLA DIYA ATTENDS 14-DAYS FRIDOUS PRAYER FOR LATE ALHAJI AROWOSEGBE ABDUL RASAQ OGUNYEMI (AROCOOL)
The Executive Chairman of Odogbolu Local Government, Hon. (Dr.) Babatunde Oyetola Diya, today Saturday 20th December, 2025 attended the 14days Fridous prayer at St. Matthew Anglican Primary School, Imodi in honour of the late Alhaji Arowosegbe Abdul Rasaq Ogunyemi (popularly known as AROCOOL).
Speaking at the solemn gathering, the Chairman described the late Arocool as a close leader and trusted ally, noting that they both shared a common leader and mentor in the distinguished Senator Anthony Adefuye. According to him, the late Arocool’s wisdom, loyalty, and unwavering commitment to shared political ideals would remain unforgettable and continue to inspire those he left behind.
The special Fridous prayer was led by the Chief Imam of Imodi, Sheikh Muhammed Jamiu Okenla, who offered prayers for the repose of the soul of the deceased, asking Allah to grant him Al-Firdaus and to give the family and associates the fortitude to bear the loss.
The prayer session was graced by notable personalities and dignitaries, including the Zonal Leader, Ifesowapo, Alhaji Abayomi Salisu; the Vice Chairman of Odogbolu Local Government, Hon. (Princess) Victoria Olusola Adeyinka; the Secretary to the Local Government, Deacon Stanley Olunogun; Hon. Olu Olufunmilayo, Special Adviser to the Governor on Finance; councillors, cabinet members, Otunba Olumide Rafiu Adesanya, Hon. Onakoya and other respected leaders and well-wishers.
Hon. (Dr.) Babatunde Oyetola Diya used the occasion to pray for the peaceful repose of the deceased and urged the family to take solace in the impactful life Arocool lived, marked by service, leadership, and dedication to community and political development.
