Ijebu Rewa, a platform known for its credibility, transparency, and accountability in news reporting, wishes to address a recent rejoinder issued by the office of Hon. Egunjobi Bakare Omolola Serifat, member representing Ijebu Ode Constituency at the Ogun State House of Assembly.
The rejoinder, which challenged our recent post on the submission of letters regarding the Zanga matter, alleged that Ijebu Rewa falsely claimed the Honourable does not have an office in Ijebu Ode. For the sake of clarity and to uphold the trust of our audience, we are compelled to set the records straight.
- Prior Communication:
Before our publication, Ijebu Rewa reached out to the Honourable’s Personal Assistant, requesting the address of her constituency office. The response clearly stated the office is located in Abeokuta. This was later confirmed in a direct conversation with the Honourable herself, who also affirmed the office’s location in Abeokuta. These statements were the basis of our report. - Denial of Communication:
In the rejoinder, the Honourable denied ever having communicated with Ijebu Rewa. To address this, we have attached verified screenshots of WhatsApp conversations between Ijebu Rewa, her Personal Assistant, and the Honourable herself. These prove that communication indeed took place and that the information we published was based on those exchanges. - To the People of Ijebu Ode:
As residents and stakeholders in our constituency, we must collectively uphold the values of honesty, integrity, and accountability. True representation demands transparency. It is our duty to question, to engage, and to insist on truth from those elected to serve us.

Ijebu Rewa remains committed to responsible journalism rooted in verified facts. Our mission is to inform and empower the public — and we will continue to do so without fear or favour.
Signed:
Mayor Sijuade Olalekan
CEO, Ijebu Rewa
