The atmosphere in Odogbolu is filled with excitement as the Executive Chairman of Odogbolu Local Government, Hon. Chief (Dr.) Babatunde Oyetola Diya, officially unveils and commissions Signposts in Honour of Nigeria’s World Champion, Ms. Tobi Amusan.
Recall that on Wednesday, August 28, 2025, the Chairman officially named the Old Benin Road after the World Athletics Champion, Tobi Amusan, as part of his administration’s efforts to celebrate excellence and immortalize outstanding indigenes who have brought glory to Odogbolu and Nigeria at large.
Today, Tuesday, 30th September 2025, marks the official erection and unveiling of the signposts, symbolizing a proud moment in the history of Odogbolu Local Government and a lasting tribute to a global icon who continues to inspire millions through her record-breaking feats.
Ms. Tobi Amusan, a proud daughter of Odogbolu, has become a beacon of hope and inspiration — her journey from humble beginnings to becoming a world champion serves as a powerful reminder that with hard work, focus, and determination, greatness is attainable.
In his remarks, Hon. Chief (Dr.) Babatunde Oyetola Diya through the secretary to the Local Government Deacon Stanley Olonogun emphasized his administration’s unwavering commitment to celebrating excellence, promoting local icons, and motivating the next generation to dream beyond boundaries.
