The Executive Chairman of Odogbolu Local Government, Hon. (Dr.) Babatunde Oyetola Diya, on Tuesday formally presented the 2026 Appropriation Bill before the Legislative Council, unveiling a clear and forward-looking development agenda under the theme, “Budget of Infrastructural Emancipation.”
The presentation, held at the Legislative Chamber, witnessed full participation from Councillors representing all fifteen (15) wards, underscoring the collective commitment to the fiscal direction of the Local Government. Also in attendance were the Vice-Chairman, Hon. (Princess) Victoria Olusola Adeyinka; the Secretary to the Local Government, Deacon Stanley Davies Olunogun; Supervisors; Special Advisers; the General Manager, Public-Private Partnership (ODLG); and members of the Executive Cabinet. The administrative leadership was represented by the Head of Local Government Administration (HOLGA), Directors, Heads of Departments (HODs), and the Director of General Services and Administration (DGSA), alongside key stakeholders, members of the press, and other distinguished guests.
In his address, the Chairman described the budget as a carefully structured financial blueprint aimed at consolidating existing achievements, strengthening service delivery, and expanding infrastructure across communities. He emphasized that the proposal reflects prudent financial management, realistic revenue projections, and a deliberate focus on projects that directly impact the daily lives of the people.

Reflecting on the 2025 fiscal year, the Chairman noted that the administration maintained a disciplined and balanced budget framework despite prevailing economic challenges. Revenue performance remained stable, supported by consistent statutory allocations and improved Internally Generated Revenue (IGR). He added that expenditure was judiciously managed to meet statutory obligations while still creating room for impactful developmental interventions.
He further highlighted notable achievements recorded within the year, including the rehabilitation of key administrative facilities, installation of solar inverter systems at the Secretariat, provision of solar-powered streetlights across several wards, and the rehabilitation of public primary schools in communities such as Odogbolu, Imoru, and Imodi. Not leaving out Primary Healthcare centers with distribution of medical equipments and consumables across the LGA. He also spoke on prioritizing citizen’s health with Iwosan Tunde initiative. According to him, these initiatives were targeted at improving infrastructure, enhancing service delivery, and uplifting the standard of living of residents.
Responding on behalf of the Legislative Council, the Leader of the House, Hon. Adesoye Akeem Tunde, commended the Executive Chairman for presenting what he described as a well-structured and people-oriented budget proposal. He thanked all the principal officers, clerk of the house and other members of the Legislative arm for their cooperation and assured that the Legislative Arm would give the Appropriation Bill thorough and expeditious consideration in line with due legislative process, with a view to ensuring its timely passage in the overall interest of the people of Odogbolu.
Looking ahead, the Chairman stated that the 2026 budget is strategically designed to deepen investment in critical sectors such as education, healthcare, and agriculture, while also addressing key infrastructure needs including roads, water supply, sanitation, youth empowerment, and community safety. He noted that the approach remains inclusive and people-centered, ensuring that no community is left behind.

He further assured that the implementation of the budget would be guided by transparency, accountability, and strict adherence to due process, alongside sustained synergy between the Executive and Legislative Arms of government.
The session was thereafter adjourned following a formal vote of thanks delivered by Hon. Jamiu Olukoya ,as after which members proceeded for group photographs.
