The Women Wing of The Church of the Lord Worldwide has commenced its annual advocacy campaign against violence against children and domestic violence, as part of activities marking the 90th anniversary of Tabieorar, within the Ogere community in Ogun State.
Leading the advocacy walk, Bishop Mrs. Phillips Olufunmilayo led members of the women’s group through major streets in Ogere, where they engaged residents and community members on issues affecting children, families, and the wider society.

The advocacy focused particularly on the dangers of drug abuse among children and young people, with the women urging parents, guardians, religious leaders, and other stakeholders to pay closer attention to the upbringing, welfare, and social environment of children.
The group also used the outreach to speak against domestic violence, calling on couples to embrace dialogue, mutual respect, patience, and peaceful conflict resolution rather than resorting to physical or emotional abuse.
Bishop Mrs. Phillips Olufunmilayo emphasized the importance of creating a safe and peaceful environment where children can grow, learn, and develop without fear of violence or harmful influences.
According to the organisers, the advocacy is aimed at strengthening public awareness, encouraging responsible parenting, promoting peaceful homes, and mobilising the community to collectively protect children from abuse, exploitation, and substance abuse.
The initiative forms part of the activities commemorating Tabieorar’s 90th anniversary, reflecting the church’s commitment not only to spiritual growth but also to social responsibility and community development.
The women called on residents of Ogere to join hands with families, religious institutions, community leaders, and relevant authorities in building a society where children are protected, homes are peaceful, and every member of the community can live with dignity and security.
